To rent a car from Swed Car Rental in Spain, you will need to present the following at pick‑up:
A valid driver’s licence – It must be issued in your home country and be at least one year old. If your licence is not from an EU country, we recommend that you also carry an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Passport or national ID card – We require a valid photo ID to confirm your identity and age.
Credit or debit card – A deposit of €300 will be pre‑authorised on your card for the duration of the rental and released once the vehicle is returned.

Do you offer airport pickup?
Yes, we offer convenient private transfers to and from Málaga Airport as part of our service. Whether you’re arriving for a holiday or heading home, we make sure you enjoy a comfortable ride straight to your destination. You can also combine the airport transfer with your car reservation so that everything is ready when you land—no waiting, no stress.
How much is the deposit for renting a car?
A €300 deposit is required for all rentals with Swed Car Rental. This amount serves as a temporary security to cover any potential damage, fuel discrepancies, traffic violations, or other unforeseen costs during the rental period.
The amount is not charged to your card; instead, it is pre‑authorised when you pick up the vehicle. The funds remain in your account but are temporarily locked by your bank until the car is returned.
If the car is returned in the agreed condition—clean, undamaged, on time, and with the correct fuel level—the full deposit is automatically released within a few business days. The exact timing depends on your bank.

Do I need a credit card to rent a car?
No, you don’t need a credit card to rent a car with Swed Car Rental. We also accept debit cards for the €300 deposit, provided there are sufficient funds available at pick‑up. The deposit is fully refundable if the vehicle is returned in good condition. Keep in mind that some banks may take a few days to release the authorisation.
Can I rent a car without a deposit?
No, a deposit of €300 is required for all bookings with Swed Car Rental. For our premium vehicles, the deposit is €900. This is standard in the car rental industry and covers potential damage, fuel shortages, delays, or traffic fines.
The deposit is not a fee—it is temporarily reserved on your card at the time of pick-up. As long as the car is returned in the same condition, the full amount is refunded within a few days.
We practice transparent pricing with no hidden fees. The deposit protects both you as the customer and our business.

Is insurance included in the rental price?
Please note: Even with full insurance, there is a €300 excess for any damage resulting from careless or reckless driving by the driver or their relatives. The renter is also liable for costs such as towing due to illegal parking, any interior damage while the vehicle is in their care, and any speeding or parking fines.
What happens if I return the car late?
We offer a grace period of up to one hour after the scheduled return time. If the car is returned more than one hour late, an additional fee may be applied based on the daily or hourly rental rate.
If you expect to be delayed, please let us know in advance—often we can arrange an extension depending on availability. Failure to inform us may affect both your deposit and your ability to rent from us in the future.
Is mileage limited on Swed Car Rental vehicles?
Not always—most of our rentals come with unlimited mileage, so you can drive freely along the Costa del Sol and beyond at no extra cost. However, certain premium or long‑term vehicles may have mileage limits depending on the rental plan. All mileage details are clearly displayed when you book.

Can I pick up my car at Malaga Airport?
Yes, we provide pick‑up and drop‑off directly at Málaga Airport for all our customers. You receive the car right at the terminal—no shuttle buses or off‑site offices needed.

What if I want to cancel or change my booking?
We understand that travel plans can change. That’s why we offer free cancellation and rebooking up to 24 hours before pick‑up. You can modify or cancel your reservation at no cost if you contact us at least one day in advance.
